headlight switch's

ok, Ive never had the stocker set-up and was wondering if theres any diffrence between the 86-87 and 88-89's. And is the actual headlight plug the same? (I know it uses a 3prong plug on the 88-89's)

Basically hooking up a 88 headlight to an 86, are they all the same?:confused:
