head pipe glowing normal or not??

have dmc pipe on 300ex 80 over/ stage2web/ cr flat slide carb after minute an half from the head around past the bend was bright oragne.local shop says its normal dont seem right to me. looking for opinons thanks

it means it is runnign hot. what size jets are you running? i could be beacause your jetting is to lean.

170main 42 pilot . i rode it 10 x & ran fine. then i balled it up in NC and started this

with jetting spot on, it is still normal for an air cooled engine to have a glowing head pipe.
