I was just wondering if when I get a white brothers e-series slip on, will it make that much of a difference? I've heard the header on the 250 stinks. I just don't have the money right now for a head pipe. Also, is the e-series on the 250 quieter than the e-series on the 400ex? Thanks.

It will, but not nothing huge. If your going to buy a pipe save and get a full system. Then rejet and take your airbox lid off. The power is huge compared to a slip on. Just save man:)

I already have an opened up air box and a k&n. I think I will get the slip on for now and save up later for a header. How much louder will a head pipe make it, because sound is really an issue. I actually have enough money right now for the header, but I have an insurence bill coming up.:(

the e-series is a pretty silent pipe, my friend has one on his 400ex and its not to loud its more of a good and middle classe sond like not to loud but not to silent either!!
you can passe in a neighbour hood and not wake every one aroud and you can pass and get the next three neighbour hoods up if you want.

Well, this is why i'm second guessing how loud it is, I have a counter copy parts unlimited book. It has all the part numbers for the white brothers models. It says at the bottom of the page that everything that has a part number with 96 at the end is under 96 db's. The 400ex has a 96 at the end of the part number. The 250 does not. This is all the E-series.

Well i have a 2003 250 EX With E Seires slipon and TWIN air fliter with no lid. Mine is pretty loud when you gun the thorttle but if you stay at low RPMs it actually isnt that lkoud. It has a deep rumbling tone but more or less not-so-loud. But if you are revving it it, it will be loud. The power was good, i got a little bit more power from all around. I would reccomend one since they are prolly one of the cheapest around. (215 at rockymountain)

With sound being a large issue, and with the limited options for the 250ex, your best bet may be the Pro-Circuit T-4 with the Quiet Core insert.

It's a bit expensive though. On a 250ex I'd just stick with the stocker until you become a proficent rider, outgrow it, and get a 400ex. (not saying you aren't already proficent.. I jsut wouldnt sink a bunch of money into the 250ex).

yeah, I already pretty much out grew it the first week I had it. I can't get a bigger one till I'm seventeen:( Unless someone comes out with a throttle limiter for a 400 I have to wait is what my dad says.:grr:

Actually you can get one.

You take the thumb throttle off of the TRX90. It has an adjustable throttlestop on it that your dad can adjust to his liking. Not to mention it's got a lot softer pull on it. I use one on my 330ex. Longer lever arm.. so less "thumb pump".
