All that I want to do is put a 11:1 std. bore piston in but I don't know if my sleeve has to be honed. Does it?

I don't need to rejet with only that mod do I, cause I am sick of it.

All that I would need is a pistin and a cometic flexsteel gasket, right? Or other things?

Can someone give me a general area of what this should cost if I installed it, or had a shop do it @55 dollars an hour?

Thank for the replys.

you need new rings and yes it does need to be honed.

proformance gains will be pathetic, dont bother. unless you put a cam in there also.

definitaly hone the cylinder. all you will need is the piston, and gaskets. i would put a cam in it as well, it will work well with the 11:1 piston. Cam Stage 1 hotcam $150 Piston Wiseco-$100, je-$140. gaskets-$20-25. cost in parts $150-200, $250-300 with cam. in a shop it would be about $250 for labor.

honing is when the cyclinder walls are slightly scuffed up in order for the new piston rings to seat properly. Boring is when the cyclinder walls are thinned out to except a larger diameter piston. You wont notice much gain from the 11:1 piston and cometic gasket alone...i just put a 406 11:1 piston in mine with a cometic flexsteel thin gasket along with new valve seals and the power feels about the same as with the stock piston. (The reason i rebuilt mine is because it was burning oil.) You will need to run premium pump gas and will probably need to rejet also. thats the easy part though. You can always add a cam later if u dont have the money right away.

I gotta ask this, because it boggles my mind.

Why are you asking US what needs to happen, and how much it will cost? If you're going to have a shop do it, why not ask THEM what it will cost, and all that is involved?
