I know it's been done before, so I went to the polaris dealer hear and got a predator coolant rezzie for 15 bucks, less than I could even find a used stock 250r one. Well, I know I can get it to fit, I just want to see some pictures of how some other peaople have mounted it up so that I'm not going into this blind.

Here's a picture of mine. Mounted it right to the shrouds. Had to make a couple of aluminum spacers, but other than that bolt on and go.

Moving the coolant rezzie there makes it easier to see the fluid levels in the radiator while your riding so that you don't run low on coolant without knowing. Also it's cheeper than a oem 250r coolant rezzie. The predator one was 15 dollars brand new including shipping, handling and tax. I couldn't get my hands on a used 250r one for much under 20 bucks, and I checked on the price of a new one and they were close to 40 dollars.

The 2 big reasons I did the mod were that my Laeger frame has no provisions to mount a stock coolant tank and this mounting location provides a more direct path for the coolant to flow to and from the radiator. I never did like the 4 feet of hose running between the stock overflow tank and the radiator. This is much more efficient.

FontMaster..would u suggest doing this? I am planning on building a 250r in the winter and am beginning to pick up parts.

I say go for it. This mod helps the cooling system work better, and is cheeper.

Has anybody else mounted it somewhere other than the shrouds?

I mounted a atc250r coolant bottle on the shrouds of my crf450r quad, it has a walsh radiator and it fits like it was meant to be there, I had to use some plastic spacers and make on bracket. I have a few of them and I figured why not try it, its not like its gonna cost me anything.

I guess this might be a stupid question, but do I have to have a resevoir tank? I dont remember my last 250r having one. I thought the fluid just went into the radiator and the lines went from the radiator to the impeller, cylinder and then return to the radiator.

Do I have to have a resevoir tank???

if you are riding when it is hot out or riding a water cooled four stroke your bike will suck up some anti-freeze and puke some out, the bottle catches the coolant it pukes out, so it can suck it back in later if needed, my atc250r has the bottle, but there is never coolant in it. i put in on the 4 stroke, because they tend to puke out some coolant when its hot outside.

Ok. thats what I thought. So it is not necessary. I just have to keep a closer eye on the fluid level in the radiator itself, and fill it at the cap.
