does a 250r carrier fit in a stock 400ex swinger?? thena 250r axle...will i need a new sprocket hub,hubs,rotor mounts and such??

most 400ex/250r carriers are interchangable.

you would need the R axle, hubs, rotor hub and rotor, brake stay, rear caliper

if your looking to switch the brakes over only, a R brake stay and caliper and rotor is all thats needed.

Hey Pappy,

would a 250R carrier work inside of a roll design 400ex swinger? I have a 400ex lsr axle, am I going to have to get the 400ex carrier?

I may be wrong but when I ordered my 400 carrier, they said they were the same carrier, just a different brake stay. Pappy can correct me if I'm wrong but the r carrier should work.

i have only seen 1 or 2 carriers that did not work but mainly they were no name brand and came with a no name brand swing arm.

i know that burgard carriers are the same for a 400ex/250R and i have interchanged them with no issues.

I don' t mean to sound like an idiot, are all twin rows tapered? What is the benefit of a tapered bearing carrier?

no, not all are tapered.

tapered bearings allow for higher side load. i havent ever needed anything more then a standard, but others may have a need for it.
