I would say get a Stage 1 Hotcam and a 10.5:1 piston, port and polish, and valve job. It will only cost you about $500 if you do it youself, except for the valve job and p & p.

I would say 10.5:1 416 or 426, cam, p&p and valve job, and look for a carb. If you do it yourself you should be able to afford all that. I have the piston and p&p but I think when I put the cam in this weekend it will help a lot. I have a 450r carb I am going to sell, pm me if interested.

I can second the last response. Go with a 416, get the jetting spot on and you will have a fast reving machine with plenty of reliability. I have had my 416 running strong for three or four years now, and not had one problem. JE piston, kept at 10.5:1 and you canm run pump 93 octane all day.

I have everything that you listed in stock bore, it works good, I keep up with the 450s

Sounds good, I would use a crf timing chain too, they're only like 30 bucks and good insurance. A rev box might also show you some good gains.

my 426 11:1, with wb 1948 grind cam and HMF slip on is a torque monster. it has more torque than my friends 440 12.5:1, white bros full system and hotcam stage 2. It is a great combo, fairly reliable to.

go with a 416, 10.8:1 comp piston, hot cam stage one, port and polish, crf450 cam chain, and a full exhuast to compliment it all.

I have a 406 ex with tons and tons of torque

JE piston 10.5:1
High Velocity porting
Stage 1 hotcam

That right there is about $350-$400 worth of work

Add a 39mm fcr for $420 from C&D and get tons of power

You can do all the mods you want to the engine but if you dont let it breath then it wont get you anywhere. A good carb and Good exhaust system will make a big difference.
