I am lookng at a 450 with elkas that are valved for like a 210-220pd rider. I am only about 175 or so. Do I just need to get them revalved now or what, are they gonna beat the crap outta me til I get them redone? I don't think I will have time before my next race and I am just wondering whether to put the stockers back on.

They will be stiff but they should be alright untill you can have them revalved. :)

I j ust don't want to get beat off the quad cause seems like every race we have had they go out and look for atleast three miles of rocks or roots. I thought maybe I could adjust them, if I got them, to take some of the roughness out, but I don't know much about adjusting shocks. I need to look for a suspension 101, anyone know any good sites?

They maybe a little stiff, but they won't throw you off the bike.

Are you getting all three or just fronts? Im thinking youll be fine, may be a tad stiff. But if your going from stock to these, I doubt youll think they are too stiff. If your 175, your probably closer to 200 in your gear. There is a lot of good info on here for adjusting your shocks.

Good point about the gear, but I'm not a full gear person, 1 I haven't acquired it all yet, and 2 it's to dange hot around here right now. I usually race with helmet, goggles, gloves, camelpak, and boots, but that probably is a lot of extra weight. The bike I am looking at has all three shocks.
