The Epic A-arms are really nice. They have many highlights of other TOP aftermarket A-arms to make a really nice all in one fully adjustible package. Lower sperical bearings like Roll & Walsh - very easy to turn and super strong BUT have Laeger style upper balljoints for ease of Camber adjustment and also inner heims on your upper A-arms like Walsh & LSR so that you can adjust your caster to your your preferred settings which do vary between desert, MX and XC. Plus they have worked with Precision Concepts to get preferred leverage ratios & shock length's that work. Too many times you have the shock guys complaining about the A-arms design - these guys are a team effort. With Precision doing shock tuning for EVERY shock company out there it is definately a win-win situation. Oh yeh - the cost for LT Arms is around $8-900.00 thru Alba Actionsports.

Awesome ... thanks for the info . I'll be shopping for suspension in the future , and I think I'll have to give these guys a call . Do they make swingarms also??

What do you think is a good all around tire setup? I've been wondering if I should get the Razr 2 fronts and standard Razr rears, or the I Razrs all the way around? I heard the I Razrs wear faster?

Razr 2 Front - The BEST tire for any condition.

IRazr Front - Works awesome in hard pack dry conditions. Feedback from roots is gone and the turn are very precise. The smaller tread tends to push in wet soggy conditions.

Razr Rear - The BEST tire for any condition.

Irazr Rear - Works awesome for any slick tracks with mud, grass, slimmy conditons plus sandy loose dirt. The huge lugs clean well but almost have too much traction on tacky to dry dirt.

Using Epic A-arms - NO. They may hit for other shock/A-arms combinations depending on lower shock mount location and shock length. ;)

Every time I look at pics of this quad , it just makes me want to build my YFZ up as an XC bike . Still would like pics of the a-arms .

I'm just bumping this back up to the top cuz it's such a great looking quad .

A question for you ... have you had any problems with your charging system since I seen you aren't running the lights or do you run the resistor kit ?? Also out of curiosity , I see you run the headlight deletes ... do they serve a purpose or are they just for looks ?? I've noticed a few people running them lately .

Where abouts do you see that ?? I've stared at the picture and can't see it . :ermm:

That's it ... I'm building my YFZ to be set up as an XC machine .... after looking at quite a few XC YFZs and seeing this one , I now have my heart set on an XC YFZ . :)

What are you doing about the electrical in her yfz? Do you have an aftermarket wiring harness? Are you going with the Trail Tech stator and cdi? Ricky stator setup? Ricks ignition systems? Tell us your secret to keeping traci's quad from stalling because of electrrical problems.

Electrical - This one is easy. We are using Trailtech's stator & regulator plus the Trailtech 12oz heavier / ballanced flywheel.

Battery is still stock and we use a Lonestar Racing batterybox which gives the swingarm/caliper more clearance for additional suspenion travel plus it makes taking the rear plastic off really nice since you do not have to disconnect or remove the battery.

The heavier flywheel is not neccessary but it does boost the electrical output of the stator more by using stronger magnets plus helps slow the RPM's of the engine for better traction & control.

The Performance Carbon headlight deletes work great for keeping the electrical system as clean & dry as possible (I have the vents open now but I will place a piece of duct tape behind them for a race to keep the dirt/water out).

If we did not have headlight deletes to use I would put the stock headlights inplace for the same reason.

Is Traci running a stock swingarm?? If so , how does it hold up to the abuse of XC racing ?

Sorry about all the questions ... I figure I might as well get all the answers now that I have the chance , cuz it's hard to find info on setting up an XC YFZ !!!

Yes - We run the stock swingarm with no problems. So far this year we have had no issues and only 1 break last year which was an 2004 model but only after over a year of extreme pounding. To answer your question - you'll be fine. Both Yamaha factory riders Cory Ellis & Bill Ballance run stock swingarms with no problems.

Thanks again . It's great to see someone take the time to answer XC questions . It's easy to find MX info , but god knows it's tough as nails to find any type of cross country set up info on the net ( I've found very little info on the net :ermm: )
