I'm so excited!!! I just ordered my LTE exhaust today! I will post some pics of the install as soon as I can. There's nothing like a dual exhaust that gives you power like all the other exhaust on the market, but keeps noise levels down. Don't get me wrong, I beleive "loud pipes save lifes", but it's not on the trails where noise can get you kicked off.

you still don't have those on yet joe?? :eek2:

my buddy is looking to sell his full hmf and try something different. he really wants to try the LTE's or the pulsecharger. both are really expensive though. he is on my rear for selling the one i had and not even testing it to see how it compared. i have a feeling it will out-do my sparks pipe but who know.

Those duallys are awesome!

yes, the pulsecharger is out for the 400ex. i just don't have any ride reports on them. they are expensive though. they retail for around $700 but usually go for around $100 less than that....

I finally got the LTE's on. They are kick ***! The only major down fall is you must use an open lid airbox because there are clearence problems with the little white air boost box on the black intake tube. When you use the open airbox it moves the whole intake tube over like an inch.

I must say I still would have bought them at this point. They have a very deep mellow tone. I don't even have the silencers in and it's not that loud. As far as power goes, it really woke the motor up! I use to have a fmf mega max (mega gay) slip on with a k&n, closed airbox and dynojet kit. Granted I now have full duel exhaust with an open lid and a K&N filter, so it was going to be a big difference. The only thing I can compair it to is another 400ex that had a full yoshi, rev box, K&N, closed airbox and jetted. I would say the LTE's have a better feeling power curve and of course aren't fricking loud like a semi on crack!

where does the battery go?

cals400ex

the battery is relocated inside the air box.

I finally got my motor back together and running. The pipes sound awesome!:D I haven't ridden it yet, hopefully tomorrow;)

What did you do about the breather hose and white box? I put some of that heat shield tape around it but I don't think that will last. I'm going to try some header wrap if I can find it.

Do you have the jetting recommdations from LTE?

I took it for a spin up and down the road (shhhh, don't tell anyone:p ) and tore up the backyard a bit, even ran over a pear tree:eek:

All the gears seem to be working fine, could only get into second briefly in the backyard and fourth on the road but not going very fast though. Feels great!:macho :D

LOL, I do need help:p

Took it out to Sandlake today, the motor definately likes the upper rpm range:eek: Wish I had this motor at St. Anthony's last June. I'm not sure if I like this set up yet, lost quite a bit on the bottom, probably make a gearing change to make up for that.

maybe a new stage 2 or even a stage 1 would suite your riding style better. i like the high rev ability for dragging. for trails or messing around, other cams might be better. you could also try a little lower gearing. :ermm:

I have a stage 1 here from when I first did the top end that I might put back in. I'd really like to try the new stage 2 but I don't want to lay out that much $ right now for an experiment. I will try the gearing change first, probably a 14 front.

I also think the clutch is slipping some when shifting under acceleration. It may be tire spin but I don't think so. I'll bring that up in another thread;)
