So whats the price on new construction that size in Indiana? Just curious what the rest of the country is paying for housing.
Congrats on both the marriage and the purchase of your new house. Now comes all this costs that make it a home.;)

Congrats on the new house and the up-comming marriage .

I'll be in the market to purchase a home within the next year or so . I found a place that has 500 acres of land and a rocky mountain type view ( no i don't live anywhere near the rockies) . 4 bedrooms , 3.5 baths , 1700 sq/ft living space ... one hefty price tag . :ermm: Only time will tell .

Oh and it has a nice big garage and a barn . :D

Congrats on the house and marige, mabey you can make a compromise with the mrs., she can make the house as girly as she wants as long as you can build whatever you want in the yard.

Thats a great price. I'm building a house with my girlfriend, 1700 square feet, 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath, .2 acres, basement, & only a 1 car garage for $226,000. Nice investment. I've already made $10,000 on it and we haven't even signed off on the blueprints yet. It won't be finished until Feb., so I'm hoping the price continues to rise until then since I'm locked in at $226,000.

Good luck with your new home.

Thats a much better price than here in the Seattle area. Here, they would put that house on a lot smaller than that one, and stick you for $200,000+. Its crazy here. We just had our home appraised last week, after finally completing all the remodling,(kitchen, dining room, family room, roof, and front bathroom) and the value has gone up 135% since we bought it.
