Is any body using a frame that doesn't have provisions to use the headstay, or could there be any issues if you don't have a headstay installed?

Thanks

There are lots of people running without the headstay, for a variety of reasons.

The arguement for keeping the headstay is to keep everything rigid and strong. If the top of the frame is providing support, the lower mounts aren't abused as much, and generally less frame cracking. Popular with MX riders.

The arguement for removing the headstay is less force exerted on the engine itself. Pulling and pushing on the head will pull and push on the motor itself, increasing stresses on the cylinder studs, head studs, and increase likelyhood of blowing a head gasket.

Stress on the frame without a headstay, stress on the motor with the headstay, it comes down to a personal choice on what's more important to you.

its good for frame integrety, bad for cyl/ head gaskets/studs like dude mentioned

I run it for the frame but w/ no bolt(not mention w/ a milled head the bolt wont fit)
