I'm in the market for new riding gear, and am wondering how much to spend. Thor has some stuff for like $50 a jersey and $150 for pants, and then you got like cheapy Shift for $60 for pants and a $20 for the jersey. What I'm wondering is whether the more expensive Thor or Troy Lee Designs, or Fox, etc, is actually better than the cheap stuff like the Oneal Element line and so on. I'm sure it's somewhat better, but enough to justify the double price? My Oneal Element pants have a couple of seams that started seperating, so the higher end pants' seams seperate? Thanks for the help.

I have the Thor AC jersey and pants. They're both very good quality. They're made for hot weather, so the jersey is basically mesh. I'm pretty happy with the way they fit and feel.

Yeah my Oneal Element gear worked great in hot weather too, it let the breeze right in through the jersey. So the Thor pants have stayed stiched nice and tight for ya?
Just that the Thor package is like $200 plus while the cheaper stuff is like under $100 for the package.

I'll look into Shift then I guess, I like the way they look anyways, and I'll have some money left for some boots maybe.

Oneal/four setups are great.

We've never ran into a problems with this gear yet, and trust me, we've put it to the test.

Oneal helments are very nice also!

fox DOES make shift...i run all fox but only because its free, the only fox things i would run even if i had to pay for it would be the v3 pro pilot helmet and the forma pro boots (not that i could afford either of them anyway if they werent free haha)

dude it doesn't matter what brand you buy because gear is gear and weather or not the gear may be cheap and it still works the same. the gear I buy is whatevers cheaper and looks good but you know the main thing i would spend a lot of money on, would be a helmet.

I just got a pair of the TLD Moto pants. Seem to be sewn up good too, and there are lots of vents.

So the basic line of Shift is that good of a deal huh? Rockymountain is selling the '05 stuff on closeout for like $45 for the pants, and like $15 for the jersey. On the other hand, I can get the whole shabang of Element, $280 for boots, helment, pants, jersey, and gloves. Thanks for the help everyone! And also, I don't care how expensive it is, I just want good quality. I wouldn't buy Thor just to show off or anything, I just want something that's sowed together to never come apart. :p
