I am currently building a 85 racer in a z400 chassis. I need some opinions and some questions answered. Which motor is the best to use? Who do i go to for making motor mounts? What chain size should i use, the 520 quad chain or the smaller dirtbike chain? and if you have any tips or links please post them, thanks

well the most powerfull 85 is the yz, but i dont think it can pull the z's chassis around, i think you should put a 250f motor in there and then you would have a power to wieght ratio compareable to and 85 db

The best 80-85 motor is the cr80/85 motor. Mine ran great and they REALLY responde to pipe, filter and airfilter. You cant beat honda's relaibilty either!

any one know any sites where i can see other minis built with the 80/85 motors in a bigger quad chassis. Im builing this for my little brother. He is 13 and his lt80 was just too small so we sold that and are builing this. we have the whole chassis done now we need a motor for it. and need some tips and pics for putting a motor in it.

id go with a cr 85 motor and get a rick petersen big bore to bring it to 90 or 100 cc, it should rip then for sure

A YZ engine would definately be the better choice if you want more power. I've ridden both the CR80 and YZ80 and the YZ80 had more pep to it than the CR with a silencer. Both engines are great so I think it's probably all preference as to which engine you should use. I've always felt that the YZ's have more power than the CR's, as I've ridden the 125 and 250's also.
