I just installed a new main jet (went from 148 to 142) reassembled the carburetor and now when the quad runs it drips fuel out of the overflow tube. I disassembled the carburetor again, cleaned it with carburetor cleaner reassembled it and still has the same problem. The carburetor did not do this before I changed the main jet so I do not believe that the needle is now worn out. Though what I am not sure of is that is their any type of spring between the needle and the float? I did not see one but may be it fell out when I removed the carburetor. Besides the leaking fuel the quad seems to function fine so the jet is working properly. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!!

is your carb a 1999 or a 2000 model? because those 2 model years had a manufacturer flaw.. the float wouldnt close all the way or the throttle needle thing wouldnt pull down the float so it stayed open and leaked gas..i dont know for sure but i think its something close to that... that was not fixed until 01 so that could be the cause of your leaking.. you probably just need to by a float assembly from the 2001 mode.. hope this helps..:macho
