Im looking for a new 05 atv and i am undecided between the kfx400 and 400ex. Biases included (its more fun!), what does the kfx have over ridin red?

better handleing, more power, water cooling, better suspension, better hop up potential, umm the only thing that it doesnt have over honda is that the ex is a tad bit more reliable, not that the z isnt, they are almost bullet proof also

I have always been a honda man but i agree that the Z/KFX is better all around.

actaully, they handle jsut about the same but everything else you said is pretty accurate.

honda always fails to update the 400ex because of the new 450r out now i guess..

In terms of reliability are we talking in general or specifically like the engine itself or frame etc? thankz.

well the ex engine is bulletproof, whatever u throw at it it can take it. the kfx engine is a little bit more unreliable, i dont know y though, maybe cuz its a little bit more complicated then the ex engine. im sure someone will tell u.

the 400ex is bullet proof until you take it to the dunes. then it's just an embarrassment.

get the kfx, take good care of it, and you won't have any reliability issues.

From what ive heard, the reliability is up to the abuse u throw at the bike and if u dont take care of it wit sertvicing etc.. when i get the atv, im not gonna thrash the heart out of her for a while and i'll take great care for it. I think i might go a kfx then due to it having a few more perks as im not thinkin of getting mods for it in the future after i get it.

well i take very very very good care of my bikes. i baby them like none other, but there is just some things the aircooled engine can't do.

remember when you get your kfx....... green is faster :D

nuh uh the yellow one is! i call mine the yellow lightning bolt:D

all kidding aside, like he said. if you take care of the bike, it will take care of you and wont give you problems.

i love my 05 400ex, but if you are a serious rider who takes care of your bike, get the KFX, it has better suspension, is faster outta the box, and is liquid cooled, but if your just doin wood and stuff id say 400ex because it handle better in my opinion and can take a KFX/Z on the hole shot, but jsut look into getting better suspension cause the stock fronts suck a ss

oh yea, the EX will probably last longer and the frame is also alittle stronger

i only said it the ex beat it outta the whole because iv raced em, but maybe it was the other rider, doesnt matter tho, just test drive both of them see whats best, both are good bikes

yea theres no way ur gonna beat a 440, i know i own a kfx but i'd rather have a 400ex, on my 400ex i could take this kfx down in the woods.... but thats about it, i have way too many probs out of the kfx, but yea theres no way ur gonna keep up with a 440 most 440's will compete with a 450r and may somtimes keep up and beat it, so wat ur sayin is that ur z will pretty well take down a 450r...NOPE sorry buddy
