oil flow question

i want to put an aftermarket oil cooler does the oil go from tank-cooler-engine or engine-cooler-tank please if u know let me know

bottom end, topend, cooler, tank and back to the bottom end

When you put one like the mickey dunlap one I got it changes it once you plug the oil flow hole inside the case.

In this case, instead of oil being pumped up the side of the cylinder to the top end, it is pumped to the auxillary cooler and the cooled oil is fed straight to the head
