Cuz it's bullet proof and probably one of the most reliable quads out there.

Oh yeah it's a Honda <---- that says it all right there..:D

WAY more reliable, easier to work on, easier to get parts for, and its a Honda...

KFX's only advantage is liquid cooling but the EX is better in EVERY respect

Because you want a quad from a manufacture with a reputation for quality, and are willing to pay more for heavier quad with second rate suspension.
I know I'll probably catch hell for that statement, but its the truth as I see it. Dont get me wrong, I love my 400 and have garage full of Honda engines. But if I had to replace my 400EX with another 400 class quad, I wouldn't be riding a Honda.

woodsrider, the 400ex suspension isnt much worse than the kfx/z. the 400 feels like and has a lower stance and seems to jump better than the z/kfx. i say ex!

every trip out my honda takes me home! sometimes it even has to pull home others!

Well im prob not going to do much if any jumping, but im just wondering what is the difference/ benefits of liquid cooling over the air-cooled ex? coz the weather does get hot out my way.

ok this is how i feel the ex has crape 4 shocks and isnt as fast and the new z/kfx are better engines then the 05 ex my friend had his 4 two monthes and the engine started makin nosies an clangin an they had to rebilde is like three times

i have a 05 400 with id say 60-70 hard hours on it. i ran a kfx with a pipe and i beat him till about the top of 4th then he pulled one quad and stayed there till we both topped out. id say there close in peformance

Handling, reliability, parts are cheap, I pulled some dukes of hazzard stuff in a lil bit of a wet field, id go in bout 5th gear pull in the clutch lock up the rear bring it around 2 or 3 times straighten up roll backwards then downshift to 2nd dump the clutch and just take off eating, my buddy has a kfx and was there and said that his wouldnt do that (i didnt believe him i thought it was just he couldnt do that) so i get on it disagreeing w/ him take off on the kfx attempt to spin it around and 1rst thing it rolls

the power diff im not really concerned about. i think theres a few pluses from what ive heard on both bikes. The kfx has upgraded piggyback suspension and liquid cooling, while the 400ex has a lower centre of gravity and is more stable through tight turns at speed and trick work. HMMMMMMMMMMM!!! Im still as undecided as i began! oh well time to get a raptor.......NOT!

hey wortho1isme funny thing is that KFX i was talking about was sitting tire to tire w/ mine and they didnt touch it, and it has brand new beadlocks and holeshots, pipe, Nerfs etc. and they didnt touch it, they must've been a die hard honda fan.

Geez i might get a kfx then. less likely to get nicked! or i could get a ct110 postie bike and leave it out the front of my house. if it gets pinched i'll just have to get into a jog to catch the bugger! When i get my bike im given it a nice new shed for a home, and never leaving it outta my sight!
