motor problems?

Ive got a 2000 yamaha blaster yesterday i was ridin and i got in it and i went about 50 and it died, I tried to start it it wouldnt start so i pushed it home and tried it started up but wouldnt idle 2 hours later i started it and it idles just has a peckin noise sounds like its in the front of the motor. Got any ideas of what it might be?

my wife had a 01 blaster that was awesome while it lasted. sounds like you need a new top end(piston/rings.) It is easy to do, you get a clymer, it is self explanatory, if you need any help, pm me and i can walk you through it. I did twice on my wifes.
