TTR I'm working on. It's getting there, still have a few things to get though before I can call it done. I need to dig into the motor today, but after that everything is going back on. :)

man im workin on a ttr too, i hope you dont need to get the cam out for any reason cause thats a pain in the ***, btw, you need to get a pipe for that thing

I'm pretty sure it's an 01. I need to clean it up too while I have it tore half-way down.

Yea, it does need a pipe. There's nothing there, just straight through. :p That rear bolt holding it on just will Not come off. I've had two pairs of vice-grips on that sucker and the grips just spin. I'll probably have to cut it off. :p

yeah i remember trying to get that bolt off on mine, i ended up having to use a break over bar and a 1/2 inch drive socket wrench with a cheater :eek2: :eek2: :eek2:

Do you know approx. how much a new pipe runs?

I've never worked on one of these before. I'm assuming I'll have to take the cam out to see the piston/rings? Can you take the top end apart without taking the motor out of the bike?

on my bike u dont have to take te motor out to work on the top end. i had m ine out a couple of times...lol i got a 91 rm125

yzfmxer, can you not just use a slide hamer to get the cam out? I made my own with a bolt, and a bunch of washers.

dude we tied that for at least an hour lol, i had to take it to a shop and they charged me $35 :mad:, i hate shops, but you dont have to take the cam out to get to the piston, i just wanted to put a hot cam in the (best mod i ever did on that bike), ohh and i got a powercore4 and it only set me back $150 :D

I went down to the dealer today to get some parts, and of course they had to order the ones I actually need. :rolleyes: There's not much I can do without a set of rings and a gasket.

Do you guys know of any good places to find info on TTRs?

this place is pretty good, id get that fmf powercore4 pipe there pretty good and only 150, comared to bbr for like 350

Here's my tear-down progress so far. :D

EDIT: Note the upside down front master cylinder. A new MC for this bike is 162$, so I had to stick with this one. It's originally for a polaris and it's supposed to go on the other side of the bars. I just flipped it upside down and it still works fine. :p I'll have to use it for awhile because I don't have any more $$$.
