my 400 was runnong great never missed a lick then the other week i bought an outerwears air lid cover and put bad gas in it and didn't know it was bad till it was to late it sputtered and cut out so i drained the tank and float bowl cleaned jets and changed spark plug it ran fine the acted up again and it keeps doing this cant figure it out got any ideas ..oh yeah it aint the valves neiyher

i would clean everything again, and before you wre using the outerwares did you run it with the air box lid on or off, if you used to keep it on you might wanna rejet

it definantly sounds like the jetting, if it fouls out the plug than its the air/fuel mixture and that is fixed by letting more gas in with all the air your outerwear is letting in,

i didnt have the outerwears on it at first its got a 170 main and 190 needle w/ 12 disc on an e-series pipe iwas thinking of buying more and run 14 of em i aint check the spark plug yet but i dont think its the jets cause it ran great up until the bad gas was put in it but i drained everything out im gone get out there today and mess with it some more

If all you have is that pipe and you were running a 170 main, well that is WAAAYYYY to rich!

thats what the instructions suggested but it ran fine that way up till not long ago
