I'm wondering what would happen if I took out some exhaust baffles in my stock pipe on a 400ex. I have a K&N, so i'd remove the airbox lid and rejet the carb. Any suggestions on what that would do to the backpressure, or jet suggestions? Thanks

it wont really give you that much of a gain in preformance, you are waaaay better off with an aftermarket pipe

Don't do it. You may notice a little gain if you cut out the baffle in the end cap, but cutting out the baffles in the muffer will make it sound tinny, and crappy.

well if i cut out the baffle in the end cap and take the lid off my box, would I need to rejet?

Yea you would prob be running a little lean but i would say it would be ok till you got your pipe cause if you rejet for just the stock pipe then you would have to rejet again for the aftermarket one. I would leave it all stock so I could do everything all at one time, the gain in hp and performance would be noticed eaiser than if you do it all gradually. The baffel prob wouldnt even give you that big a gain anyways. JMO
