yea theres not many legal places to ride...especially on long island but we make do..pretty much ride whereever i see a trail we'll pull over and ride it..mainly out eastern suffolk

That stinks not having any trails. All I have to do is go outside. The trails start right next to my garage. Then they climb up to hunter mountain. If you go one way you can go to kingston if you go the other you can go to whindom mountain. Loads of trail riding.

**** Hunter Mtn!!!! I installed the Boilers, 800ft of Vic pipe, 1500ft of Refrigerant pipe, all during the ******* winter. I drove 1.5 hours each way for that ****ty Kaatskill Mountain Club they built at the base. You'll have to tell me bout Windham mountain trails. My parents have a house just off 23 somewhere.

I'm just north of Utica off of Rt8. There are some decent trails here, and 3 awsome sand pits, and a "desert" which is like a desert, but its only about 1/4 mile but 1/2 mile big. There was suposed to be some trails built this summer. Almost all of this is on posted land, but alot of the people don't mind that we are riding there, and the rest well we just keep a watchfull eye out for any crazy old vigilanties, or the DEC.

anyone else in the 5 boroughs? i live in staten and me and my friend have 2 quads here along with a trailer, but no truck to tow it since it was a friends and got repo'd.

we used to go down to sarco when we had the jeep, but now all we can do is wait till it snows to ride around the streets, cops usually dont try to chase you in the snow lol.

if anyone lives around staten or brooklyn and wants to go riding. we have a trailer that can hold 4-6 quads and if you got a truck maybe we can all take a trip to jersey or upstate so PM me if your interested!

i hit the pit all day sunday, it has changed alot but still was a good time..you kinda need to make your own fun,,,no real rack but we did make one and get some racing going , a few hill climbs, and alot of trails, burms and jumps.. it was 3 levels about 15 acres of open riding maybe less..

about 15 quads in there blasting thru out the day, you can ride your truck and trailer right in there, there were 4 trucks in there but i wouldnt cause you can run if you need to(cops) but not if your truck is there. i have a cabin up there we park at it and i have about a 15 min trail ride directly to the pit..safer

i thought opening day was yesterday..i dont think it would be a problem, most of it is posted no hunting...we can just ride the road by my house instead of the trail for about 1 mile...no problem there. once werein the pit i think it is cool..

the other option is driving directly in the pit like most people do! i personally dont feel comfortable with that but i can give you directions so you can drive to it and meet me there if you dont want to travel with me from my house...

HAA yeah some languages are all jerked up on it. Im trying to have someone edit a bunch of stuff. I got the message did you get my email? My phone was broke and i didnt get them until sunday later afternoon. Its fixed now so im down for this weekend sat afternoon. We have 5 machines at max in my group my gf is riding as well as my cousins if its ok with you. They are all good riders. Yeah we def all wear helmets. The outy 800 is sick. They "CLAIM" 25% more power then the brute force and polaris 800. It is pretty sick if its true. I have driven the brute and the polaris and tehy are both impressice for a 4x4. I mena being used to my banshee my r and my 450 i was shocked at the torque they had - JT

I think the name of one is southwoods mx track?Its right by the holiday mountain right off exit 109

i heard lembo is a good place to ride 400 acres of trails and 3 tracks 2 for bikes and 1 for quads...never been but next yr definetely hitting it

jt, we have a newbie riding with us, i hope this wont bother you...it should be ok once we get to the pit but from my cabin to the pit maybe a little slow..its not to hard of a ride thank god so it wont be to bad...he has only ridin in his yard on a few acres and never really in trails or pits..i beleive its a 350 of some sort, a warrior maybe!

I live in Middletown and ride along the Walkill river and in Maybrook. I have a friend that live in Rock HIll and rides around and on the lake in the winter. I go ta good group of friends that ride and a variety of quads (400ex, raptor, banshees, z400, blaster, scrambler).

Chiro, it's really easy to get there from the katrina falls sandbanks. I'm tryin to make it out for a ride tomarow but my quad is trying to tell me otherwise, but if your in the banks and looking toward a big clearing on the only mountainside you can see, right under that is the old southwoods track. You have to cross the neversink though, so make sure ya got your snorkel. If i make it out i'll be on a blue yfz #450, and my buddy on another ds baja. I can show you tons of trails around there that run up past whitelake and down to middletown if we meet up sometime.

My bike is down in athens right now. We ride around going towards catskill and coxsakie. None of the people I ride with have ever been on a real track, just trails, fields railroad tracks etc.

Ne riders from that area... and to the guys who were askin bout MX tracks in upstate ny there are quite a few actually... try looking up royal mtn. (in caroga lake) and thunder ridge (in fort plain... thats a new track). I know of a couple more but i cant seem to remember what theyre called at the moment... ill ask my cousion and post them then.

Yeah man, thats where a lot of stuff goes down. the shalepits are ok, but they get old after a few hours a day for 10 yrs or so. Fun stop though when your just riding around.

i did a little riding also in the snow about 3 inches and this was the first time my new razr2's hit the snow ...let were great..very impressed...

Went snowmobiling yesterday in rockhill at a bunch of old fields. Might do it again tomarrow afternoon if anybody else has a sled local. No rocks in the fields so it doesn't hurt the sleds too bad.

I'm out of Rochester. With hunting season still in effect most places are closed for the next week or so. There are a number of people throughout the state who have land. They'll charge $15 or $20 and you can ride all day. Many of them have great trail riding and some even have a decent track.

I'll post a list of locations and some #'s once I get a list from one of my buddies.

Usually by January we'll throw on a lowing kit and a set up studded tires and run on the ice. Irondequoit Bay (North East End). We'll have someone plow out two flat tracks. We usually make a long and short track. When it's nice out you'll find anyone who has anything there on Saturday, sometimes Sunday. We also go out at night during the weekdays . . . tentatively planned depending on how slammed we are at work and whether the girlfriends or wives decide to let us play.

Few things to remember: make sure you have your registration and insurance . . . the Webster Cops are usually down there checking up on this stuff. If you have an aftermarket exhaust, make sure to have a quiet core installed . . . they'll ask you to leave the bay if your wheeler is too loud. Other then that you'll be good to ride.

The only recomendation would be to have a set of nerf bars installed . . . you catch someone's studded tires near a footpeg things could get ugly!!

check deleware county. Its between binghamton and albany off I-88. I used to live there. Good riding terrain. My parents still live there and they tell me of plenty of land for sale pretty cheap.

I was wondering if someone would be kind enough to send me directions to maybrook , I live In Brooklyn NYC and I am looking for a place to ride with my two friends I have a 04 400ex and they both have limited Banshees also if there are any places close to NYC to ride or anyone with thier own land that would like some company and help with their trails let me know I am the President Of the JUST RIDE OHV Club of Brooklyn NY and I am constantly working on getting the riders of NYC a place to ride legally and I am also looking for any land owners that would give us permission to ride on thier land , all members would sign waivers of liability so if anyone gets hurt you would not be held responsable in anyway, you also would have your trails kept clean and maintained plus as the president I could try and get members to help out with donations to say thank you .

I will try and also come to the meeting , support is needed the more of us that turn out and raise our voice the harder it will be to ignore the fact we pay taxes , registration fees and never get to see results. Did you know that there are 350,000 registered OHV's in NYC and not one place to ride within the 5 boroughs or even close. Your machine must be registered and insured. All proceeds will be combined with the Sept. poker run in able to donate more to the children. These trails are not the same trails Ridden on the Sept Run. This event is limited to the first 125 people to sign up on the http://www.scatvassn.com homepage - Joe

under highway straight about 2 miles...you will pass 2-3 new houses on right..one is for sale..after that the entrance is about 1/2 miles on right..you will see a few sand piles and a gate..its in there..see ya tommorrow 1ish

gw to palisades north...to exit 9 287/87 west to exit 16(harriman)..this puts you on rt 17 take it all the way to where ever you go...17k will come first, then 2 exits later wurtsboro with the rrbeds and alot of trails and small pits,,then exit 109 to katrina falls sand pit...

Whats up everyone I hope the ride goes nice today for the SCATV. When I got up by the newburgh exit I kept going 2 exits and wound up not knowing where I was and I didnt see anyone riding in any of the spots that looked good so i didnt chance riding on anyone property, I headed back and found my way to 17k and wound up finding some trails behind the airport nothing spectacular but anyplace to ride and not get tickets is a great place to me, I just wish i could have been riding with more than my shadow;). Next weekend I will not be able to ride on sat because Cotoure VS Liddle and Sunday I will be making a trade for a YZ125 so I could make more trips easier if I cant get my hands on a trailer. I wound up renting a trailer from uhaul yesterday well worth the $30!!!! Like I said just wish I could have found everyone else. Hope everyone had a good time. Maybe the weekend after this My friends would like to go riding also so maybe we can set something up from now and get some more people. Once again Thanks Guys!

The trails are all closed up for the winter by me (in W Mass) so we head down to Maybrook to ride. Anyone want to meet there this Saturday am? The spot is literally 2 minutes off the Rt 84 Maybrook exit which I think is exit 5. (Need a truck to get in there though...)

cool - I appreciate the heads up on Maybrook. I've heard of others having trouble there as well. There's some state owned and posted areas there where they'll get you every time. We stay clear of it, but you're right, it's not technically a legal spot so they could bag you if they want. I was stopped there a year ago or so. He was cool since I was registered, had all the gear, etc...we actually spoke for a while. I can't find insurance anywhere for Mass residents though. I called a few ins companies and they all sell atv insurance, but once they hear I'm in Mass, no can do. :ermm:

OK here goes, Me and 2 or 3 of my friends are looking to go riding on STUPID BOWL sunday anyone out here that could give two *****s about the stupid bowl and is ready to ride on sunday let me know , we are renting a enclosed truck to come up for the day and want to get some solid riding in. Also if anyone has Blaster parts I just got one for my wife and could use some parts. Unfotunatly since the stae troopers are doing all road crossing form what im told, You need to be registered and insure. ALso what blaster parts do you need? I may have soemthing laying around from when i had 3 blasters - JT

Hey ChiroChris ,JT and ESPECIALLY FLIP thanks a million for the directions and sharing the spot!!!!!! Me and my 2 friends has a blast, it only took us about 1 1/2 hour to get there from Brooklyn NY and it was great. Understand anywhere we go and there are 20 people and no one leaves with tickes is a great place and I owe it to you guys so THANX. We went for the first time today where everone else was found some other places to, we didnt go on any of the land that said no trespassing but we did get soak and wet and full of mudd from killing the woop sections, I do have to say the pit is nothing special, I am not complaining at all lol , but we enjoyed being able to go threw the gears , the woop sections , the tracks all the way up and that spot just past the pit could be a pretty cool little track once your used to it. THANK YOU EVERYONE THAT CONTRIBUTES TO THIS POSTING AND CONTINUES TO RIDE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! For anyone that was there I was on the RED Honda 400EX with flames(covered in MUD), and my friends had the 2 black Yamaha Banshees (both limited 04&05) and we came with the uhaul trailer(like I said mine was stolen 2 months back lol)

Cool, glad you guys liked it and had a good time! I'll try to get down there in the next week or 2 if you guys can meet up. We can get out onto some of the trails too. I hear ya about the pit - it's so-so, but I drive over 2 hours to get there so that alone doesn't do much for me. Very good move staying off that posted land - dec will get you there EVERY time! There are quite a few trails out there as well, I certainly don't know them all but I can show you around what I do know and we can try out the others. Plus, that way if we get lost we can all starve to death together...Hopefully in the next week or 2 I can get out - no snow in sight!

i assume your talkng about maybrook....we need to hit my area alittle further up about 20 min.. park at my house and hit the trails,pit and a condemned 18 hole golf course..the pit is pretty big and about 3 levels ..a few hill climbs and other stuff, the only problem is they take sand and gravel out every week so you never know what to expect from week to week...also have another spot of old rr beds and alot of trails with a few small pits..

We will MOST LIKELY be getting together to ride again this weekend if the weather is ok (not freezing) Pm me ChiroChris and let me know where about you are so I could let me friends know and also see how long the trip will be for us. OH ONE THING I THOUGHT EVERYONE MIGHT LIKE. If you dont know about this check out Google Earth or Windows Live and they give you satelite shots of your house and locations anywhere on earth. I found it great for looking at trails and finding spots to ride by looking at areas of empty land close to you. Check out Gerritsen Beach Brooklyn NY and youll see some trails right in Brooklyn ny THEY ARE NOT LEGAL!!!!!!! But they are there;)

Yea its pretty nice but the parks will nail ya if they see you in there. Other than that there are a few other spots Ill get to posting little by little just so people know what is being withheld from us OHV owners. Trails that have existed for Decades and have no use . I grew up riding in gerritsen and I remember as long as you didnt ride there on the street no one cared. Boy times change

MikeSteel, JT, Chiro, and whoever, I'd love to get out and ride sometime. I hoped this weekend would work but as it gets closer, it is looking more and more like a road trip won't be on my to-do list.

What about the weekend after? Hopefully the 18th? Maybe Maybrook or any of the other spots you guys are talking about...It doesn't really matter to me where it is, just need to get out! I'm always up for a road trip for some good riding.

JTQuad - I'd love to do that snow run thing you've mentioned, but I'm not insured. Seems like no one insures quads in MA. I though I read back somewhere that registration (I have that...) and insurance are required...

Thats what i hear, and i fly out sunday night. Oh well the next 2 weeks will be 24 - 7 riding all day and night. Ahh cant wait - JT :)
