I just got a new set of ITP holeshots.
I have inflated the tires to 40lbs of pressure and have not been able to seat the tire.

I have used oil, really soapy water, but when I deflate the tire, I notice the tire has not seated properly.

Does any one have good tips on how to do this?

Thanks

Coat the bead of the tire with waterproof grease. It should seal after this.

Use dish soap. it's more slippery then grease. I always rub some around the bead before trying it.

get a wratcheting tie down and put it in the middle of the tire. start makeing it tighter and tighter until it pushes the tire to seat.

Interesting that you mentioned that.

Last weekend I went to the place where I bought the tires.
The guy said he's had 2 tires explode on him when he reached 55 lbs.

I thought you should know in case you want to inflate that high again.

Well,
I tried the dish soap and the wratcheting tie downs and could not get the damn tires to seat.

I pumped 40lbs of air and let them out on the sun hoping the heat would help.

You have to use grease like evil said. Coat it good and it will pop on. I've had to put a LOT of air in some tires before they seat properly.

Thanks,

I'll try that cause I don't know what else to do.

Couldn't you just do the old fireball trick where you "explode" the tire on? I know its probably not the safest but it will certainly seat.

i used dish soap and it always works...

if i remember correctly it says do not inflate the tire past 36 psi when seating the bead!!!! it only took 20 psi to seat the bead.
i have the holeshot mxr4 (18")

Yeah the tires indicate not to inflate past 36psi.

I've heard the smaller the tire the easiest it is to seat it.

I had 20 inch tires before and they locked at around 25 psi.
I am trying to mount 22 inch tires now and went as far as 40psi and soap.

Tomorrow I'll have a chance to do it again.
Thanks

Take a can of starter fluid spray the inside on the tire pretty good and make a trail on the ground about 5 feet away light it and instantly the beed will seat just put the flames out with the hose works every time.

i would have sugested that too but i figured some kid would blow his arm off. we used this same method to do lowrider wheels back in the day
