bearing carrier question

Is it possible to overtighten the 2 allen bolts on the axle housing. When i tighten them, i push the quad and it sounds like something is rubbing inside of the housing. When i loosen the bolts a lttle bit, it doesn't do it.

well no you can't really go to tight cause you will not crush the carrier it's just to strong...so you should be ok

Nah, the allen bolts dont make a difference how it rolls. The bearings spin inside the carrier, the carrier doesnt spin inside the housing. Tightening the allen bolts just keeps it in place tighter so your chain doesnt come loose.

If you feel resistance and grinding in the rear end then you either overtightened your axle lock nut or need new bearings
