Aftermarket Oil filter part numbers......Help !

I have an oil filter for my 450R made by Hi-Flo and also 2 K&N filters I just ordered from Rockymountain ATV. My question is this:

Both the Hi-Flo and K&N are part number HF-116 and KN116 respectively. On the K&N box it say it fits TRX and CRF . I've always been under the impression that the CRF and TRX filters are different and can't be interchanged.

Can anyone shed some light on this ?

KN-116 is the right filter The 04 and 05 CRF filters are also KN-116 the 02 and 03 CRF filters are KN-115.

they are one in the same.

from what I understand the 02 filters a slightly smaller in size but will fit any year.
