Adjusting Preload

Can someone tell me how to adjust my preload on my stock front shocks on a 2002 400ex. I do a lot of trails and its set at max, at the end of the day my hands are blisterd. I know you need to rotate the cam, i just dont know how to rotate it.

just take some channel locks, or if it has a preload tool with it, and put it around those little notches at the bottom of the shock and turn it to where you want it. Lift the front end off the ground to make it easier.

do the little notches push in when turning it or are the solid mounts?
