265 stock cylinder

how reliable will a stock cylinder be that has been bored out to a 265? are there any bores after that or will it have to be resleeved?

It will be very reliable. Every cylinder can be bored out to .140 over using the 86 piston. 265cc is at .80 over so you'll have about 6 bores left.

Your 265 cylinder is at .080 over. Seeing as you have an 86 250r, that gives you one more bore on that cylinder. The 86 cylinders can be bored to .100 over, where as the 87-89 cylinders can only go to .080 over. The cylinder, as long as the top end was put togther right should be about as reliable as a honda can be. Depending on how hard you ride you will want to replace the rings ever 6-12 months, that will help the reliability.

I'm right it's .100 over. Even if you use an 86 piston in a later cylinder, you will need to get into the conecting rod, and posibly a spacer plate, but thats going away from your question. Anyways you have one bore left that will put it at .100 over. After that you will need a re-sleeve, or a new cylinder.

I have always herd .100 on 86, and .080 on the rest, idk mabey I'm wrong, but I have heard that from quite a few people.

Wiseco made the .140 which also is used in certain model years of the CR 250R

The .120 and usually the .140 (unless it has been bored off center) can be used on any year cylinder. If you're using an 87-89 crankshaft, you will need to use the 86 piston (> .080 over) with a spacer plate.
