bummer steve. You'll get her fixed. Don't know how that could have happened- maybe some type of twisting action there...

I have seen a crack there on 2 450s last year in the same garage. They both got it warrented by honda so check into that. I was told later by them that the welding on their new one was alot better then the cracked subs.

ya i took that as soon as i got back from Rausch, i dont think it is still under the warrenty ill just get it welded
thats an easy fix...just reweld that yourself. I cant see how that would happen really? You definately need to now check the rest of your frame ;)

It happened from all the extra weight of the mud, and the the stress from yer butt movin side to side with that weight. My frame cracked in 3 places from that race. I'd bet the mud added at least 100 pounds. The wheels were packed solid inside and out what a mess.:(
I have broke 2 subframes in the spot, 1st was from getting hit from the side, 2nd I don't remember.

so its common for it to brake there? someone should make a gusset kit for the subframe like they do for YFZ's, i wish i had a welder that welded aluminum though

450R subframe is definitely aluminum...best weld for it will be to TIG...look in the yellow pages for someone that TIG welds...sorry about the break...

I reweld mine, then weld an aluminum strap across the bottom.
