Im thinking about getting the fst 330 kit for my 300 and im just curious about all this im hearing on case work and splitting the cases. is this really neccesary and if so how much would that cost to be done?

i wouldnt think so. i heard thats a good kit for the 300 though.

No, you dont have to split the cases or even bore them out to run the FST 330. It's all top end work, no bottom end. That kit rips if you make sure to buy a cam, hd rockers, hd valve springs, and get a port and polish job done on it. You cant just bore it out to a 330 and ecpect wicked power. The cam compliments the piston, one is worthless without the other. Then the port and polish is a must because the 300's ports are too small to begin with. Having them do it might cost you around $1200-$1500 bucks. I did all the work myself and I ported and polished it myself so I only spent about $800. I would not reccomed porting and polishing it yourself unless you really know what your doing.

I will confirm.. no case work is required for the FST330.

Very easy to install.

And yes, the port/polish/valve job is a MUST. 250cc (250x) porting just doesn't cut it on a 330cc. ;)
