wow! Look what i did!

First off, i should say after all of this I still won my race! haha..

I pulled off after my moto and the swingarm was smoking like hell and nearly on fire, the carrier had blown grease all over the quad. You could not touch the housing of the swinger or you would burn your hand.

I could pull the axle about 2 inches back and forth...I raced 4 laps like this and even hit a 100+foot double...


Oh well, I won my race, and now i can get new parts.

Bearings out of the carrier, it got so hot they kind of welded onto the axle!!! Your not pulling them off...haha!

it was an RPM carrier.

I just made a big order:

JB swingarm
Elka rear shock
Herrmann Linkage
RPM carrier
RPM Lock nut
Hiper wheels all around, red rings
New MXR4's
and a have another RPM axle in my garage

Guess im sitting out from racing this weekend but it will be worth it.:D

It took out the Swingarm too? I take it you just got the new shock and linkage for the dual linkage setup?

no, that whole rear end was off a 400ex. Im just switchin over to a 450r now that i have the money..

BTW, swingarm and shock are still perfect condition (besides the PC chipping) if anyone needs it for their 400ex!

I have a warranty card...plus it was thier Carrier too so i will raise hell if they dont!

why do you always start **** in my threads man? I take perfect care of my bikes, you can ask anyone on the site who knows me. I've never had a problem with you so i dont understand why you always have to start something?

Yes i do have a good maintenece program, New piston and rings every few months, and i will tear down the bike about every 4 months and check everything, plus my winter rebuilds. This was just a freak occurance that could happen to anyone..

EDIT: after i re-read your post i dont know if you were starting something or not, but you usually do in my threads so i was assuming you were. If i thought wrong i will delete this post.

If I wanted to make a direct comment I would...Yeah looks like there was grease in the carrier to me:rolleyes: Im sorry but thats how that kind of thing happens whether you think you do good bike prep or not. When you buy a used bike next time, take a week and strip and find the problems first, otherwise as you can see, well, they come back to bite you. Time will yield these things.

its a Laegers +1 1/4 ...Like i said its in perfect condition, no cracks or re-welds, just needs some new PC.

Be careful, it may or may not fit a 400ex if its been modified to fit a 450R now.

like R3Concepts said, i am gunna call the original owner of this rear end and see if he had to modify it at all to fit a 450r.

I want it under 2 conditions. dont meen to be an a ss.

1. It will fit on my fourwheeler. (400ex)
2. I have it b4 friday this week

the double wasnt too hard. Come around the turn in 3rd, shift 4th and hold it PINNED, and i mean you can not let off! i had to get 5th once. The jump its self is easy, but it throws you so weird, its hard to land right, you have to really be able to control the quad in the air.
