Dunno about doing it with one foot on the grab bar, never tried it like that. I always just keep both feet on the pegs. It's fairly easy on my 300, all I do is basically put my knees up against the back fenders, keep the toes of my left foot on the rear brake pedal and right foot on the peg, make sure I'm in first, then dump the clutch and gun it. It's basically just like doing a regular wheelie, but you're backwards, so you need to lean forward to help with balance. Just go out and try it.
It's kinda hard to do in grass unless you've got some good tires. I used Holeshot MXR's, MX's, and MXR4's, and the only ones that could do it in the grass were the MXR4's. I actually started practicing it on pavement before I could do it in the grass.

Damn straight. We got bored around here one nite, borrowed some kids Honda Elite scooter, and were riding wheelies on it all nite long. I'm ashamed to say, it was kinda fun. But it was definitely funny as hell.
