I am about to order an 11:1 from weisco and I was just wondering what my bike will be 416 right? Its stock bore but I just don't know what it will be and neither does Matt Bartoseic (he's more of an r mechanic) I'm going to be running 93 so if it pings I’ll add a little cam2. Also where is the cheapest place to get gaskets? Sorry for posting another message like this but I don't have time to find past posts.

Thanks,
Ben#416

ya man, if you get a 11:1 it will be a 416.....if it is a 10.8:1 it is a 406 and just a 10.5:1 it is a 400. Hope this helps. lol

I hope your joking. All you are doing is bumping up the compresstion to 11 to 1. You have to bore it to have a 406,416,425, or a 440 w/a sleeve.

SickO, no you dont, all you have to do is up the compression. Who taught you?

Im positive you have to bore it or stroke it to gain any cc's. or else you would have 450's instead of 440's depending on the compression.

Compression don't matter at all with cc's.

I found this in past posts..

first a cc calculator http://www.bluetraxx.com/engine_displacement.htm

and now the actual cc formula... (put on your thinking caps)

400ex Stock Bore Calculations

Bore 85
Stroke 70
----------------------------
-----Bore ÷ 2

85 ÷ 2 = 42.5
----------------------------
(Bore ÷ 2) X (Bore ÷ 2) -or- (Bore ÷ 2)²

42.5 X 42.5 = 1806.25
----------------------------
-----(Bore ÷ 2)² X 3.14 -or- (Bore ÷ 2) X (Bore ÷ 2) X PI

1806.25 X 3.14 = 5671.625
----------------------------
-----That X Stroke

5671.625 x 70 = 397013.75mm³
----------------------------
-----Divide 397013.75 by 10, 3 times -or- Move the decimal place to the left 3 times

397013.75 ÷ 10 = 39701.375
39701.375 ÷ 10 = 3970.1375
3970.1375 ÷ 10 = 397.1375

400ex = 397cc's

----------------------------
Further more to make it down to the nitty gritty then...

Bore divide by 2
Sqaure (Bore ÷ 2)
Take (Bore ÷ 2)² and Multiply by 3.14 (PI)
Multiply by Stroke
Divide by 10 3 times or simply move decimal to the left 3 decimal places.

Now that is how you find out your quad placement Ladies & Gentalmen!

I just didnt know the formula.

Compression has nothing to do with bore size. compresstion how much you compress the air in the cylinder. that doesn't make the bore any bigger. If you have the 416 kit your quad has been bored out .80 over ( I think thats the size) and maybe they gave you a 11to1 piston.
Do you even own a 416.

LOL....calm down there man, I was just wanting to play with the kid a little b/c that is what he thaught. Do I even own a 416, Come on now, are you for real?

lol that made me laugh. you have all that work done to your bike, yet you don't know what compression and CCs are, well thats how it apears. oh well it's never to late to learn. but you could have a 9:1 piston in a 440 kit, the compresion doesn't really directly affect the ccs...but typicly most kits (406 416 425 440s) are all running higher compresion pistons.

Now i'm confused like a *********. If it doesn't raise my displacement any i won't be to mad because I got it for $80(including shiping) So who here accually knows what there talking about? Also should i just get stock gaskets? How about an xr's?

Man, does anyone here have a sense of humor? Listen breaks, if you are staying with the stock bore you will not have a 401 let alone a 416. If I were you I would use a silicone base gasket and a xr400 head gasket. This will help up the compression more. Also since you will be using a High compression piston you WILL have to run race gas, no if ands or buts about it. You can get the gasket at any Honda dealership or order it online from www.cdracingonline.com.

lol, woops I just asked my friend who works at weisco and he said the same thing. I guess I was misled. Any way I won't NEED to run race gas I know this from a friend who has an 11:1 440 and he just runs 93 except when he races. He races 4 StokeB in the nationals and Bud Fisher built his 440. So what good would this piston do? I know it doesn't do **** with out a cam, stiffer springs, hardened rockers ect... I'm going to run it like this just because my stock 400 piston has had it, not blown but rattling (threes a reason for my name) So would I even notice a SMALL difference with this piston? Also 80 wasn't a bad price right?

Thanks,
Ben#416
