I ordered my 2" Belltech Drop Spindles and 3" Belltech Blocks from Summit Racing on Tuesday and they were at my door Thursday afternoon. I installed them with the help of my uncle in a little over 5 hours. I've got new tires coming some time this week too. Anyways let me know what you think. 99 s10-4.3, automatic,3rd door etc.

Damn, what a nice truck. My quads for offroad...id do that any day of the week. Will that make it more aerodynamic and give you better gas milaege?

Thanks, yeah I know there will be some but I don't really care, it's my truck and I love it.
Atkins-Thanks, not sure on better gas milage but it does seem to handle better, not too sure because i need to get an alignment, gonna do that one day this week when I get my new tires.

Thanks, I'm debating a GM rollpan and I can't decide whether or not I like my badges and don't really want to fool with removing the glue behind them right now either.

There will most likely be set holes in the body panels to hold the emblems in place along with the double sided tape, so unless you plan on doing some painting just leave them on. I went down this same road with my old F-150 that I had. Your result may end up different, but I ended up hating the lowered end result. You can't tow hardly anything, and you get stuck alot more often when you go into the pits at your favorite track. But, you may like it just fine. It does look good though. ;) Get some chrome under those wheel wells though. No point in lowering a truck if your not gonna put some nice wheels under it.
I know mine's was a ford, but heres how it looks lowered without the emblems.(after I had sold the rims.)

I'm pretty sure that on the s10's it's just adhesive holding it on, I've seen pics of your truck on here before, it looks nice:). I don't really think I'll have any regrets about it, I won't be hauling much very often 2 bikes and gear at the most I'd say. Wheels will be coming sooner or later, prolly towards the end of this year, beginning of the next.

by the way, the engine is 130 lbs heavier then the stock one, so its just like adding a medium sized teenager in the truck. O YEA, I also have a tool box in the back weighing it down maybe 200 lbs or so right now, and I weight 240.

what your saying has nothing to do with his thread. Basically saying he wasted his money when he could have done what you did. I say, get off his back and I'll leave you alone. BTW, I've sent you a tissue for the tears...

LMAO, that is not going to drop your truck like his - if it does, you got problems with the front end. Using weight to drop any vehicle is absolutely the worst thing to do. Period, end of story.
anyways, I got my point across... continue on.

Looks good...
I had a '96 Sonoma with 4/6" Belltech drop and body kit. It wasn't very practical for a truck... I guess I had too much done on it so it wasn't meant to be practical anyway.
Yours shouldn't be too bad. They really aren't as bad as most people think they would be for hauling stuff or going on dirt roads.
I now have a 89 S15 with 4" drop and I can use it anywhere without any problems.

Removing the badges really isn't hard at all, that goo will come off pretty easily on a hot day with a little bit of elbow grease. Just heat them up with a hair dryer and use goo gone. But I say definitely go with a roll pan, I would get a steel one personally. That way you can mold it in later on down the road, if you wanted.

I saw on s10forum where some guy used goo gone on the glue under his badges and it screwed his paint up real bad and that's made me a little leary, but it seems nobody else has ever had the problem. The only thing holding me back from going with a rollpan is that if anyone was to ever rear end me I'd like to have the bumper there, I dunno I guess I'll just think about it and make a decision a little later on.

Nothing wetsanding and buffing wont fix though. I think I have seen the thread you are talking about. The way I see it is if I'm going to get rear ended, its going to screw it up anyways. Especially when your low, they wont even hit the bumper.

Thanks, yeah it sucks that it happened... It's alright though, gives me a chance to start on something new. Right now I am driving a Ranger, of all things . It is such a far step down from my old dime. I am waiting it out though right now, I will eventually get another s-series, I already have a full bracket kit, spindles, and air management and a thorbecke brothers 3-link is on the way. I have my eye on a yellow Sonoma, so we'll see how this goes. I don't know if you have seen dan's (yellownoma) truck, but it gives me a hard on, lol.

Hahahha yep same here, however my is only a 305, I definetly need something a little bigger very soon. Thinking about the 327 I got in my shop, or if money isnt an option in Sept, just getting a 5.7L fuel injected motor from a camaro :D No problem with the Rustangs then as long as I can find some traction.

The cowl is. I haven't decided whether I want to open the front up. I'd need a ramjet intake or some sort of setup so it would connect to the air filter. Plus I'm not so sure that would be good in the winter cause we get a lot of snow in the UP and it might get clogged... I'm not much for brushing all the snow off my vehicle. But I think it lets the heat out quicker with the cowl.

I know if its a vortec it will be pretty easy to make something. You can also make some sort of plate that can stick on there to keep the snow out.
