I got a lt250r off a guy and I got it all ready to ride, put in some oil and put in some 32:1 gas, start it up,put it in first, got about 10 feet away from the garage and it made a clunk noise and stalled and the kick lever wouldnt move. The guy said he drained the oil in it before he stored it in his garage for 2 years. What do you think happend,if it seized from lack of lubricant it would slowly bog down and seize up,but this made a clunking noise exactly when it stalled. Do you think i could take him to court over this?

I think the the rule, for sale 'As is'. goes into effect. It would prolly be a pain in the arse to try and sue him. You could ask him, to take the bike back and give you your money back. He prolly ain't gonna go for it.

Maybe sue him:rolleyes:

He probably didn't know either. He prolly drained the oil, let it sit and it rusted inside. Its a 2 stroke, its easier to rebuild. erm.. So ya got that going for ya:rolleyes:

Sorry about your luck. That really sucks.

Take him for court??? for what, ??? i highly doubt that is well worth everybody elses time...... it probably siezed on you or the piston could of blew up do to a dirty air filter casuing the jetting to be off, the walls of the cylinder were probably dry from lack of oil after it was sitting in the garage for 2 years...
what i would do is rip the top end apart and see what is wrong, maybe you just blew the top end gasket, but i can't see why you can' kick it over..
just pull the top end off and inspect everything

it wouldn't cold sieze that fast would it? you gotta remeber he was in first and went 10 ft, did you just put the oil and gas in start it and take off? did you really get on it?

Well it made a clunk noise exactly when it stalled,i think something is up in the bottom end

Maybe the kick-starter droped a tooth? It could be anything. You'll just have to take it apart, and look around.the bottom end would be a good place to start.

06-03-2002, 09:13 PM
will the kickstarter move at all, u might of cold siezed it, if u jus started it and took off, if the kicker dont move, the crank is porb screwed

see if you can push start it..if not it's gonna be either rings siezed in the cylinder or lower connecting rod berings froze..good luck

It sounds like you stuck the piston to me. I don't think sueing him would be the answer, I have seen many times when people get there 250r motors back from the shop, after getting big bores put on them run there bike and stick the piston. It happens thats just part of the sport. If your lucky it just a piston not the bottom end of the motor.
Good Luck on your bike.
