View Full Version : new exhaust
i think i am going with the hmf exhaust.is the much differance between the slip on and full system
what bike is it, if its a 400, the stock header is fine untill you get some more mods, but if its a 300 or 250 you def. need the full system
that would help to know bike it is for a 400ex i have a k&n and rev box
yeah you should be ok with the slip on, the header on the 400 is already oversized so you wont see too much more preformance from a full system untill you get some internal motor work done
what would be a good slip on to buy i may need to quite it a little somtimes.will a full be fine on stock motor in case i deside to up grade later
ohh the full is fine on a stock motor and if you need saound adjustability look into white bros or fmf, they dont have the greatest quality pipes out there, but i dunno of ne other adjustable pipes
i thought u could change the end caps on the hmf for sound
oh maybe you can, i dont have to much experience with hmf

hmf makes a quit core you can buy for around 20$ and it is suppose to be very easy just to put on....

I have an HMF on my 300ex and it's pretty loud with or without the quiet core. Seems to me all the quiet core really does is make it a higher pitched exhaust note. Maybe up in the higher rpm range it's a tad bit quieter, but it's still WAY louder then stock. Whenever i ride in town, i just put the stock pipe back on. Seens as though performance and being quiet don't mix.

i think if you were to remove discs instead of adding the sound would decrease...just an idea
