KICK STARTER ON 400ex?

Can you make a 400ex kick start instead of electric

i seen a kick starter for a 400 in chaparall

I was lookin at that a few months back.What i though you could do is get an XR400 side case and use it but you would not be able to use the nerfs with heal guards and you would have to cut you fender.(or so i heard)

Service honda.com, you could look at the kick starter,and order side case,shaft,ect.

How would you be able to incorporate the kicker gears into the side of a 400ex engine? I know use the XR case, but what about internal parts?

ya but i asked a while back and i was told you needed a whole xr400 bottom end.

or find a XR400 and take the motor than it would be kick

idk that part when i get the money I am gonna see if it can be done but i am not sure if it could.

i seen a 400ex a while back with a foreward kick start that he had heal gaurds and all so i dunno but i want one

You sure it wasn't a hybrid?

I think the only difference is the clutch basket, 400ex has no gears on on, and the left side case. It will kick backwards though, unless you find a way to machine another gear in there.

it was either a xr400 bottom end or somekind of hybrid. Whoever said you have to have the whole xr400 bottom end is correct, you can't just put a side case and kickstarter on.

My friend said he saw a 400 with a kickstart that kicked forward also, so im curious if there is any way to do this. thanks for the info
