im about to order a DID chain and im not sure on the sizes that are shown on rocky mountain. can somebody tell me what these numbers mean? i think first number is the gauge of the metal and the second number is the number of links, but im just taking a wild guess. chains for a z400.

520 Chain, 520x100 (for example)

The first number is the size of the chain and the second is the number of links.

According to Sledpartsguy (http://search.stores.ebay.com/search/search.dll?query=z400&srchdesc=y&sid=10789423&store=Sledpartsguy+Super+Store&colorid=2&fp=0&st=1&fsoo=1&fsop=1)on ebay, you need a 520 chain with 112 links if you're running stock set-up.

My understanding of chain size is this. The first number is the pitch (distance between pins) in eigth's of an inch. The second two numbers are the distance beteen side plates or the width of the roller in eigth's of an inch. For example, the pins on a 520 chain are 5/8" apart and the rollers are 2.0/8" wide. A 525 chain has the same pitch but is 2.5/8" wide.

Sorry about the link. Try it again, I think I fixed it.
