KFX top speed

i got a kfx with a hmf full system, a k&n powerlid (basically airbox lid removed), and a k&n air filter. does anybody know the approx. top speed for a kfx with all of these mods?

i got a rossier full system with k&n and i run about 70ish

unless you do a gear change,increase rev limiter or change tire size it aint going any faster than a stock machine it will just get there quicker about 68mph to 73 mph is what i've been told i know i did 65 in the 1/8 mile with a 15/40 comb and i was just getting into 5th gear and that was with a 440 ,cams ,carb and exaust

sometimes the power of a stock machine isnt enough to overcome the windresistance/weight of a rider to hit the rev limiter in 5th gear.

new engine maybe...heck if i know. Tell me if i'm wrong, but if you hop up the engine like, a better engine, then...would there be more hp?

with my stock kfx and a GPS i did 67mph going on a uphill grade. But keep this in mind with your mods it only helps you get up to your top speed faster.....if you change your gearing, that will either make it have more top speed or more acceleration.

Its not how fast you can go....its how fast you can get there;)

i top out at 92 i know its fast but i have a 11000 rpm revlimeter 20 in tires 15 tooth in front and 40 in the rear


yeah i have a ipe and stuff but that crap just gets me there quicker

60 stock brand new maybe 62-63 depending on rider weight, wind etc. And if someone said they hit 70's with a pipe+ K&N and w/ out changing out the gearing/sprockets and keeping it stock then BS.:chinese:

the manual says the kfx does 74 on the dyno but thats without any drag on it wind road condisions exc. but either way they will wup a 400ex lol thats all i care about

i know my 2005 kfx 400 has no mods and it goes over 70 mph i know this because a grizzly 660 goes about 65-68 and i blew that away and i also blew away a 400ex with a racing pipe,


My goal is to get mine in the 90's range anyone that is in that range yet that has a Z400, KFX400, or a DVX400

well i ran mine on the highway from mid kentucky to tennessee (yes i got pulled over , and yes the fine was not worth it, no i was sober, and yes my tires are now bald.) but my buddie has a new bmw which has to have an accurate speedometer and it went 71 and its pretty much stock just pipe n **** not more out, no gear change.

i think the world record top speed on an atv is a littler over 100, and it was a raptor that was rocket powered. youd have to have that thing geared so incredibly high youd have to have somebody push you in a car to get rolling.

u sure that isnt a shot of NOS idk about rocket powered i would think it was faster than low 100s if rocket powered those trials never seem to work out good lol however theres some banshees/lt500r out in the salt flats/ desert that are doin over 100 without "rocket powered" even if you regear one of those with some other mods and nos they get on up there in speed idk tho dont take my word on this just read it never seen it with my own eyes

Ever heard of a truck? Man your such a hardass...I doubt a stock KFX/Z/DVX will do 71 mph

shoot like 149.45 thats more than a lil over 100 i believe you now tho thats pretty sweet i thought u were talkin like 115 or somn seemed a little slow for rocket but 150 sounds more like it lol

by putting on an exhaust, air filter, and propperly jetting the quad.
1 before adding all the mention thing above, if you are not reaching the rev limiter.your speed is detemined by power/weight ratio/gearing The engine doesn't have enough HP to push the weight any faster.
2 By adding the above mented items, you increase intake flow of air /fuel , then you get rid of it easier. which will increase HP
3 so by adding pipe, filter, and properly jetting the carb you will gain speed. This also if efected by where the HP gains are at, if it is not on the top end of the power curve. Your not going to see any gains.

68.5 mph top speed for a stock geared kfx clocked with a trail tech computer. i topped it out on a long strech of flat county road so i know its accurate. i only weigh like 160 tho

ok yous say its hard to do 90mph well banshee up here piped jetted filter and just locol port does that well... 92 and the 421 cheetha banshee 4mm stroker over 100hp without nos or race full will go buy em in like 5hth with the front wheels in the air and that was like 15or 16/41 or 40 gear but its insane the power band goes 1500rpm-6500 or so in and instanet and it revs over 10g easy so id say wayyyyyyyyyy over 100mph need to clock it yety though

Nothing is accurate. Stop arguing about top speed, your never gonna go that fast on the trails or a MX track. You dont want to buy a quad just because its really fast on top speed, you get the one with alot of torque and acceleration, but in some cases top speed, depends if your a complete drag racer or not. But the top speed of a KFX/Z400/DVX is somewhere around 67-69mph.
