I was taking my filter out today to clean and oil it, and i noticed that there was a bunch of engine oil sitting in my intake boot and airbox. Does anyone know why ?? Is it time for a rebuild or what?
Thanks

:( your crank bearing is about to go

How would the crank bearing have anything to do with oil in the airbox?I would assume that he either had too much oil in the crankcase or blowby. Please explain.

well i was told that oil in the air boot and what not was a good sign of the crank bearing about to go? so maybe i heard wrong info?

I am not arguing with you,if this truly is an early sign of crank bearing failure I would be interested in hearing how it relates.

Check your breather "T", sounds like its clogged and your engine is building up to much pressure.;)

Here are a couple of possibilities. Too much oil in crankcase so it runs out breather tubes into air box. Did you roll your quad or tip it on the clutch side wheels? I have to turn mine sideways to get into my storage ( pain in ***) and oils will some times make it out the breather tube into my air box. Over heat? Check breather T. on oil tube.

do alot of wheelies? store it on the grab bar? The oil is coming from the breather tube in the crank case and has nothing to do with the crank bearing at all.

Exactly what he said!!!

The problem is that my breather tube from my crankcase isnt in the airbox anymore, ive got a k and n so i took it out of the airbox and put some foam over the end as a filter. plus the oil is inside the intake boot more than in the airbox.

What he said...clean the T and all the hoses going to it...we saw this about a month ago.
