What do you like best about your 400EX?

What all do yall like best about yer 400ex? I am thinking about gettin one after i work alittle and sell two of my 3 wheelers. So I was just wonderin why you guys like them and if its the right quad for me.

Also, does anyone know the top speed? Im sure its been posted once but the search feature wont let me search "top" speed.

my favorite, its a good all around quad. good power, nice design, excellent handeling, parts are cheap, and the reliability.

I actually sold my 01 400ex and bought an 86 ATC 250r. I just missed having a trike and the 250r's motor blows the 400ex away. The 400ex is nice trail machine, great in the woods. They are very easy to ride and control as well.

Yep, but a 400ex will do better than my blaster, and dont worry im keepin the R just selling the 200s and big red. Also your from 3wheelerworld arent ya?

That wouldn't be a bad trade off (200s and big red for a 400ex) even though those 185s/200s' are a lot of fun to screw around on. Yes I am also a member of 3wheelerworld.

Not to hijack my own thread but I love my 200s, I can wheelie that thing in 2nd all day, but yeah i was gonna do this trade because we need alittle room and i figure one vehicle gone will free up some room.

the reliablity is great and also there are alot of aftermarket companies that make parts for it.

i like mine for mxing more than trails and hill climbs in canyons because it dont have reverse on the older style i dunno how the new ones handle. and i clocked mine today with a buddy with all my mods(see signature) and i got 71 mph. (except for the pipe... its not here yet)

I have 2 of those and I still love to just go out and wheelie around on those things. :D

I like my 400 just because it's a great trail quad and very reliable when maintained ;)

mine got topped out at 74 with only a k&n air filter, dont know how, but it did, but yea, go and spend your money on it, it is a good quad to have, nice handleing, speed, etc.

i just got an etrax gps thing and my 400ex tops out at like 55mph :confused: bouncing off the rev limiter and everything in 5th with stock gearing and tires. dry dusty trail though, that might have had something to do with it.

thing i like most about my ex is the lowend torque. every other aspect is better on my kfx though.

Whoa, your tires are spinning. Must be your slicks, lol. A stock ex should do 75+ if it hits the limiter. Mine will get to about 70-72, I think, but I haven't hit the limiter yet, in 5th that is. Hey Dynofox, haven't seen you hee in a while. How are things over at 3ww? lol, I haven't posted in a long time. I really like my 400 because it has a lot of torque, and because it is pretty good in the trails. Also, it's a honda!!:cool:

I hear the older EX's post a higher top speed and with a radar gun the new EX's go about 55.9mph but i dont think the speed went down 20mph :ermm:

But I think ill go for the EX because, from what i see and hear it seems to be a nice sport quad and its good for wheelies and burnout and donuts and just trail ridin, so thats what im lookin for. Thank you everyone.

ya my buddy has a new one and he kept up with me on a clay road with loose gravel and i dont think my holeshots hook up good on that tho. i bet we were goin about 60 at least.

My ex is only clocking out at 100kms (60mphs) mind u i need piston and rings, as well as my clutchs are screwed. over and all the thing i like bout my 400 is the fact u can wheeli forever, its got the best balance point also when you hit the grab bar on wheeli at 65kms and only bent my axle 2 rims 4 a-arms and front headlight! fixed it up ourselfs for 400$ we saved my wallet a pretty penny, though the only dislike i have to say is ive been through 2 axles, they bend easily anyone else find so?

the thing i like most about my 400 is i can smoke my buddies all day. but really good power awsome wheelie machine, comfortable to ride. its still runs at the end of the day unlike my old blaster. and most of all out runs DNR good as any.

once again the 2005 400ex does not only do 55.9 i have clocked mine out with a car on the highway at 69mph i no it might not be exact but it should do 65-69 some were in their difinitly

I love the fact that the EX is one of the most moddable bikes in the universe... The handling is great as well.

Things I dont like are the cost of building these into monsters and not being liquid cooled!
