I was told that a stock 450R handle better then a 400ex with after market front end...is this right???

I have a EX with elka/LRS front end std travel...how would it compair to a 450 ( honda or yammie ) in the handling and suspension departement. if the 450`s had stock or after market frond end???

I was thinking of maybe selling the 500ex and getting a 450R but I don`t know yet.

I am not sure about the front end on the 450r, but I know that you would want to address the rear link first probably.

yeah I know about the bad linkage on the 450R

the thing is that my 500ex has as much power as a 450r...I am just wandering if the handling and what ever is better...would it be worth to sell the 500 to get a 450?

id keep the 500, you def. have more hp than a piped filterd and jetted r, and i really dont think handling can be that much differnt and with your set up it should handle way better than a stock r or yfz

yeah I would probably try to get a good, cheap walsh front end for a 450 if I ever get one.

but my Q? is: is a 450R any better then my 500ex for mx? and if so how much better? is it worth selling the 500?

if i was you then id get a 450r. if you were drag racing then id keep the 500ex and if you geta 450r get the walsh front end.

your 500ex should handle better than a stock 450R or yfz but a 450 with a good set of +2 or +3 a-arms and wider axel, suspension upgrades will leave any 400ex behind in handleing.

my 450R has +2 burgard A-arms, lonestar axcaliber axel, GTthunder shocks with MX linkage. it handles great! i also have a +2 burgard swingarm because i do a lot of hillclimbing.
the 450's are also a lot lighter than a 400. the power of the 450's come on a lot faster and rev faster than most 2 strokes, the 450R just needs the HRC kit.

thanks guys that is exacly what I wanted to know.

and if I have the money the walsh front end will go on...I just need a 450 and some money now :D

so anyone want to trade a 450R for a 500ex??? lol

thanks again
