Axle bearings can be very easy, or they can be a *****.

I bought a axle bearing and seal kit off ebay for 30 bucks if I remember correctly.

First, you have to remove the axle.

Take the wheels off, then remove the cotter pin in the hubs, then remove the hub nut (27mm) and take the hubs off each side.

Loosen the 4 allen bolts on the end of the swingarm, loosen the chain, take it off the rear sprocket.

Take the caliper off of the caliper stay, let it sit up on the swingarm.

Loosen the axle nut (reverse threads, so it'll be all the way in towards the brake rotor), remove the C Clip, then tighten axle nut until the assembly comes off.

Using a small hammer, take the brake rotor off the axle.

Then, use a pair of snap-ring pliers if you have them, and remove the snap ring. Then remove the brake stay using a small hammer if needed.

Pull the axle out.

Pull the carrier out.

To replace the bearings, pull the seals out, then you can try to beat them out. Do a search and there are some other methods to do this.

Justin!!! thanks a bunch for your detailed reply! You are a Pro!

How many bearings/seals do I need? Does it come in a kit altogether?
