is there a device that i can buy to transfer music from a cassett to my computer so i can burn the songs to cd???

The quality won't be very good no matter what you do, but you could always get a cable that has 2 mini stereo plugs on both ends and plug one end into the mic plugin on your comp and one into the headphone jack on the tape player. Then you need some sort of program that will record from the mic port. Shouldn't be too difficult to do.

If they are songs on the tapes, why not just download the songs?

That was my first thought too. I believe if you own them on tape, it isn't illegal to DL a copy for your comp. Plus it will be much better quality. But if you must transfer from tape........

i cant download the songs because i cant find them anywhere.these are very old cassetts.do you guys have any site i can go to to find and download old songs?
