I lubed the head set bearings on my CR 250 a while back, my question is this: Do you have any resistance when turning the bars left and right? The problem is that my bars turn TOO easy. I'm pretty sure I could tighten up the head set to get a little more resistance, but I wanted to hear from someone with a newer bike that hasn't been apart yet. I guess another option would be a steering damper if no resistance is normal.

You should not feel any resistance when turning the bars.

what he said, you must be turning the bars with your bike on a stand right, if you feel any resistance at all somthing aint right, maybe the bearings you lubed were so f'd up that it made it hard to turn and when you lubed they got alittle better, thats why it feels funny, but you should never tighten down the head to get more resistance

There's no resistance, it's butter-smooth. I just get a little head shake once in a while. It's probably just me.

what year is your CR? i think the earlier versions of the alum frame had a little headshake problem.

All CR's have a little headshake.

It's a '96. I bought a '97 back in '98, and yeah, that thing had some fits. Thanks for the replys, guys. I might try a steering dampner if I can't get used to it.
