I bought this 250R about a month ago.. with frankenstiened plastic, torn all to hell.

So i got on ebay.. spent $30 on plastic.. and here she is.

Oh and thank you to whoever made that "Polishing How To" thread, my engine cases had a dull black finish to them.. i took steel wool, and mothers cream to them, and i think they came out pretty good.
Let me know what you think.,. Thanks!

Use the waiting time wisely.... take off some of the stuff thats rusted and paint them over, like your break pedal....

Spice it up dude :) its one mean machine you ahve there and it loves being taken care of...

this winter i have some serious plans to dissasemble it completely, and repaint the frame, and go all the way thru it.

I think my main reason for not doing more at the moment is the weather... its been upto 110 down here in SW MO.

i polished the cases by a shade tree, because the garage was too hot to work in, with a box fan strung up to me with an extension cord.. blowin' on me while i scrubbed and polished.

I recently got rid of my 450r and got a 250r its a ct pro x 330 and it hauls ***. I love the power of the 250r. Right now it is at Janssen Racing getting a complete top and bottom end. Everything inside will be new..bearings, crank, gears, clutch... you get the idea. I will have it back in a few weeks and I cant wait to get back out riding...

that brake pedal was pretty bad.. so i went out this morning.. first thing... and sanded it down, steel wooled it.. and mothers cremed it.. now its a polished brake pedal :D

so of course after that i had to repolish EVERYTHING with mother's. Nerfs, bumper, wheels, cases, everything.

Just love that shiny aluminum :D

What's the point on polishing the brake pedal, its only going to rust just sitting there with the moisture in the air. You could clear coat it, but usually it doesnt turn out too well. PCing it would last a lot longer.

Nice TRX250R. But who will trade, or sell there 450R for a 330R??? Hmm i dont know. Might be faster. But there will be more wrenchin on that 330R than you will be doing on that 450R. Well, i have both 4 strokes in 2 strokes. And i like both. But stock for stock can't compare the 04-05 TRX450R to the 86-89 TRX250R. oh well still brothers (TRX)

20 years difference what do you expect??? cc for cc the 250 (2 stroke) is much more powerfull than 4 stroke, and you dont have to be wrenching every minute once you maintain it properly.....

Also figure the costs of rebuilding a 4 stroke compared to a 2 stroke.

But yes as you said Brothers, but i consider the 4 stroke the sister :)

lol..

What would you guys suggest i could do to my 250R to make it even faster? would i have to buy a bigger bore kit? any suggestions?

Sister? i dont think so. If so why did the 450R's take over the racing scene? And in all 2 strokes there will be more wrenching. No matter what. 2 strokes aren't as reliable as 4 strokes. 2 strokes are going down the drain..less n less.

to make a 2 stroke fast. send it to ESR www.esr250.com

If your guad runs that good spend that money on suspension, axle and a arm upgrades, that will make you faster !!
