I need some help from you guys.

I am undecided whether to install a stage 1 cam or a stage 2.

I understand the stage 2 requires springs and other stuff.

But as far as performance is concern, has anyone installed the stage 1 first and stage 2 to compare them?

I need to know if it is worth skipping the stage 1 and jump to the stage 2.

I used my quad mostly on open roads (baja/vegas) where mid and top end are important.

Your help would be appreciated as always....

Since your going to be on the top end msot of the time I would skip the stage 1 and go with the stage 2 since its more of a top end cam.

the stage two does require harder springs but they are easy to change if you have the right tool (basically a c-clamp) i would think it would be worth it to jump up to a wilder cam if you are in the mid to upper rpm range.

What is the difference between the two? Does the Stage 1 require anything other than switching the cam out with the stock one?

The jump to a stage 2 isnt worth it unless you install a higher compression piston to compliment the top end bias of the cam. Stick with the stage 1 for trail riding and stock pistons.

The stage 2 requires new valve springs and you may or may not need to machine down your middle valve guide.
