Shock Information?

I was wondering if anyone out there has anything they can send, or post, that describes how shocks really work Internally.

Id like to learn the insides and outsides of shocks to get a better understanding of what i need to do, too get mine dialed in 100%.
Anything from a websight, to books anything!

google search! you will find all the info you need. i learned off of trying to learn on crotch rockets to set the supsension. maybe try looking into motorcycles to find the info?

thanks for that info guys, But that (how stuff works) isnt really what i was looking for. THat is pretty much basic information of whitch i knew most of already, from my basic automotive background.
