no way man, the 400ex is a 4 stroke and more reliable then the 2 stroke lt which is about the same speed, maybe a little faster. the 400ex also has better handling and suspension over the lt, keep the 400

the LT would smoke your 400 power wise. 400 probably handles better and jumps better though.

I'd keep the 400.

and 2 strokes are just as reliable as 4 strokes, if you maintain them.

400ex BY FAR... I have owned a LT

the thing with 2 strokes is that it fells like your strapped on a rocket, when honestly they arent a boatload faster than 400's, all you will do is wrench on the lt and they handle like chit ;)

take my word : learn from others mistakes

If you were riding dunes, I would say the LT. Them 2-strokes do great in the sand. For any other type of riding, I say keep the 400EX.

The quadracer will blow away a 400ex without a problem. The quadracers have two problems the rear shocks blow out and the rear brake calipers are also a problem. They run good though. As far as handling and jumping thats a toss up but the 400ex might have a slight edge. It's really depends on your riding style and what you want to do with it.

:huh :huh :huh

Maybe in stock form for strictly recreational riding, yes, it's a toss-up. But when you really start pushing the suspension, the 400EX wins hands down, there's no contest.

well ive owned both and i can easily say the 400ex is better in every situation. my LT was faster when my EX was still stock but top speed doesnt matter anyways. the suspension is light years ahead of the LT too. my LT even had works and the stock 400ex was nicer. id say get the 400ex unless your building a drag quad or on a super tight budget or you want something that not everybody has.

In your sig. you said you had a 1985 those thing were terds. The 1987's and newer were ten times better! The 400ex is a better all around machine!

I have a 1992 LT. I admittedly have lots of $$ in it. I have Works pro-series triple rate shocks on the front, Works shock with rezzy in the back. +2 Burgard a-arms... anyways, a buddy of mine that had a 400ex for a few years always came back with a big chit eatin grin on his face when he rode my LT! Stock, the LT is faster than a 400ex. Handling on the ex is probably better than the stock LT. I HATED the stock LT shocks. I have never rode a quad with a better seat than the T- seat the 87-92 LT has! :D

how the heck can all you people say it is worse than a 400ex? i have an lt250 and my brother has a 400ex i smoke him everywhere. the suzuki is longer wider and handles twice as better. i can jump mine farther and more stable than ever but my brother has to ease into jumps because its not a stable. two strokes are just as reliabe if you maintain them. they have more power also, although that sometimes means more wheel spin. these are my opinions, i would drive each and investigate more and figure out which type of power you want. sluggish or screaming
