a bigger front sproket and/or a smaller rear sproket will give you more top end speed but less bottom end power, essentially gearing the bike up.

a smaller front sproket and/or a bigger rear sproket will give you more bottom end power but less top speed, essentially gearing the bike down.

1 tooth on the front sproket is about equal to 3 teeth on the rear sproket i think. not positive on that but thats what i was told.

I have a 1 tooth down front sprocket coming for mine, for some reason one year a banshee had a 1 tooh down front sprocket and all the rest dont. experimenting I suppose.

hmm..interesting. Did you ever hear if that banshee did better speed wise?..and 1 tooth down would be 13 teeth right?..or would it be 12?

13 if I am not mistaken, I am sure it was either 87 or 89 they did the sprocket change, Might be a little off on the exact year though.
